Applicant Information

We are accepting applications for the Public Housing Waitlist.  The Section 8 Waitlist is closed, and we are not accepting applications at this time.

To apply, click the "Apply Now" Button at the top of the Page.  Please provide a good email address.  Our communication will be primarily by email in the beginning. If we receive an undeliverable message for our emails, we will mark the application "inactive," and the applicant will be required to reapply should he/she wish to pursue the housing waiting list.

Once you apply, your application will be stored until a member of our team imports the application. Until your application is imported, it is not visible in our system. Applications are imported no less than once per week.  We will send additional information by email once we import your application. To ensure you receive our messages, please add our email address, info@enterprisehousing.org, to your contacts.

The email we send will instruct you to create an applicant portal account.  You can do that now by clicking here.  Please check your email frequently for additional instructions.

A portal account is required to begin processing your application. For Registrant Type, select APPLICANT.

Please keep your login information in a safe place.  You will be asked to visit the portal from time to time to upload documents and update information.

Additional Information Requests
We may contact you by email or by phone if we have questions or need additional information.

Waitlist Notification
We are unable to provide application or waitlist status by phone.
When your application is approved and added to the waitlist:
1. You will receive an email confirming your placement, or you will receive a letter by First Class Mail if we have any issues with approving your application, such as unresolved balances with prior housing authorities, unresolved balances with Alabama Power, Negative landlord references, and/or failure to provide complete and accurate information on prior arrest history.
2. We will contact you by First Class Mail when your name reaches the top of the waitlist.
3. We will contact you by First Class Mail once annually, when we work through the purge process for our waiting list.
* It is important that you respond to any notices if you wish to remain on the waiting list.

Other Important Information:
• Keep Your Information Updated in the Portal.
- If First Class Mail sent to you is returned as undeliverable, your name will be removed from the waitlist.
- If you move or if any household or contact information changes, you must update your information through the portal to avoid delays or removal from the waitlist. We will not make address and contact information changes for you.
