What Home Means to Me Poster Contest - Due April 7, 2026
Calling all youth artists! Compete for a chance to win cash prizes and a trip to Washington D.C.
Since 2008, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) has celebrated the unique and poignant art of children living in affordable housing. The poster contest is conducted in multiple rounds: 24 regional winners compete nationally, and the 12 finalists are featured in NAHRO's "What Home Means to Me" calendar the following year.
So, what does HOME mean to YOU?
How to Participate (click the hyperlink to see all forms and information on the NAHRO website).
- Create Your Poster (see requirements below)
- Write the artist's name, grade level, and housing authority on the back of your poster entry.
- Complete the application information form (per artist)
- Write a paragraph sharing what home means to you (per artist)
- Turn your poster in to Lenise Curtis (PH Residents) or Arial Ramsey (HCV Residents) by 5:30 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Artist Requirements
- One entry per artist and one artist per poster.
- Must be between 5 and 18 years old.
- Must reside in a household or be provided a housing-related service by Enterprise Housing Authority.
Poster Requirements
- Must represent the theme "What Home Means to Me"
- Must have a landscape/horizontal orientation
- Must be at least 11x8.5 inches (letter paper) and no larger than 28x22 inches.
- May use any art media (marker, crayon, paint, etc.).
